There are two broad types of finance: personal finance and corporate finance. In the first instance, this usually involves something closely related to the person or even to their family. Areas that cover personal finance include the family’s monthly or annual budget for food and utilities, saving some extra money to prepare for totally unforeseen calamities, such as a sudden illness or an accident, paying for college education, how much life and health insurance policies to buy, and even planning for retirement.

loan from a financing institution, usually a bank or a savings cooperative. A mortgage is a legal instrument through loan repayments are secured by attaching an encumbrance on the lot or property to be financed. This way, the lender has some security or assurance that the money he had lent out will be repaid sometime in the future. Mortgage loans can vary considerably in terms of amount, maturity, interest rate, and method of repayment.
